The Junkies

Demonstrating a forward thinking attitude held by few, a stellar programming ability and slick mixing techniques, is what has allowed The Junkies to create an unmistakable vibe on the dance floor that echoes through each and every time they step behind the decks. Although not overly concerned with placing a label on their sound, it can be best described as deep-sexy-chunky tech-house. Its infectious and deep feel has made them a consistent and present force in the Toronto club scene and has entrenched them at many of the most respected clubs and venues the city has to offer. Holding a residency at the legendary Guvernment Main Room as well as Footwork, Hotel Boutique and This is London, keeps them educating the electronic faithful on a near weekly basis in the undisputed capital of electronic music in Canada. Having found favour with many fans and music lovers alike, the duo have graced the line-ups of many esteemed events, and have found themselves alongside the likes of Tiesto, Deep Dish’s Ali Dubfire, Max Graham, Chris Lake, Peter Bailey, DJ Simi, Danny Freakazoid, Eric Entrena, Scumfrog, Kenneth Thomas, Cedric Gervais, Robbie Rivera, Kaskade and Nick Terranova just to name a few. 2007 saw the release of their first solo EP intitled Basic, as well as remixes for Simi and Presslaboys respectivly on Rawthentic music. Followed by releases on PBR, Tigereye and Music Over Life. The Duo have just finished up a remix for Kenneth Thomas and Shawn Michael which will be released on Perfecto Black. With more originals and remixes to follow the future looks very promising for this duo.
